In 2018, butchery, caterer & bistro Vandenbosch will celebrate its 35th year in business. Today the third generation, brothers Raf and Gijs Vandenbosch, run the shop in Kermt, Belgium. With years of family experience behind them, they continue the tradition with their a butchery, caterer and soon also a bistro.
In 2012, the neighbour’s property was put up for sale and they decided to buy it, allowing them to double the size of the butcher’s shop and expand it to include a bistro. Raf Vandenbosch says, “With the bistro we can offer our customers even more service, with a completely new concept. The bistro not only serves breakfasts but also homemade pastas, sandwiches, salads, seasonal dishes and more.”
Everything revolves around quality and customer friendliness. The extensive range includes various artisinal products they make themselves. “The fresh character of our products distinguishes us from, say, a large supermarket, and by continuing to innovate and adapting to the needs of the customer we see a fine future for the butchery/catering shop.”
Vandenbosch has been a Smeva customer since its founding, nearly 35 years ago. “The counters and coolers are of high quality and the service is commensurate with that quality. Smeva’s counters and wall coolers provide space for our extensive range of homemade charcuterie, fresh meat, cheeses, dairy, catered dishes, vegetables and much more. In patnership with a number of interior decorating and lighting partners, Smeva created a beautiful overall concept with which we will be able to serve our loyal customers for many years to come.” Smeva delivered a 12-meter Smeva Vision Greenline serve-over counter, Fjorda 3-tier self-service refrigerated display case, Performer back-wall display including a lower cabinet, Dry-aged cabinet, Backbar cooler, top unit showcase and plug ’n play refrigeration island.
